Sydnee Carter on new music and performing in Singapore for the first time at Music Matters!

While out in Singapore for Music Matters in September, Larry sat down with Perth musician and songwriter Sydnee Carter. It’s been a big year for the songstress, who has been working on her new EP and locking down as many shows as possible, with this recent stop in Singapore being one of the clear highlights.

“I’m looking for any opportunity to get my music out there,” Carter says. “No matter where it is in the world, I just want people to hear it. Dad and Mum are my managers at the moment, so we were like, ‘Let’s just get on to it – let’s find every festival opportunity and let’s apply for it’.”

As for plans leading into the New Year and what it means for Carter and more audiences back home, expect to see much more of this talented artist as 2017 kicks off. She notes that her music has continued to evolve and change as her musicianship does too, an experience she’s enjoying exploring.

“We’re trying to put my EP together,” she explains. “I think once that’s together we’re looking at tours for the east coast of Australia next year. Every day I’m finding new ideas to add for my songs; “Just a Boy” that I played tonight, is supposed to be a piano ballad. We turned it into an electric guitar thing; it sounded so different, but so cool. I mean, there are so many ideas going, ‘Maybe we should do this with this song…'”
