Band Name:
GLADES

Website / Social Media:
Facebook / Soundcloud / Twitter

Genre:
Alternative Pop

Members & their roles:
Karina – Lead vocals
Cam – Producer/Synth/Guitars
Joey – Producer/Synth/Guitars

What music or artists inspired you?
We have quite a few influences such as Broods, The xx, The 1975, London Grammar, Lorde and Astronomyy.

How did the band get started?
Cam and Joey were working as producers, then decided to start their own project. They wanted a singer to be part of the project, and knew Karina from high school, and knew she would fit the position well! Cam asked Karina randomly when dropping her home one time. Our first meeting together as a band was for coffee about 5 months ago.

What shows do you have coming up?
Our very first show is coming up on November 27th @ Manning Bar in Sydney.
Keep an eye on Facebook for more dates.

Tell us about your latest release:
It’s called ‘Falling Away’ and it’s about being at the breaking point of a relationship.
It’s the first song we wrote as a band and we wrote it in Cam’s home studio at 2am. We ‘unofficially’ released it to Triple J Unearthed to enter a competition. We went to bed with it having 6 plays and then woke up the next day to Chad over at Hillydilly having blogged about it. We were freaking out because at this stage we hadn’t even launched any of our social media! Luckily we had all of our social media pages ready to go, so we officially launched as GLADES that night. From that it was blogged well over 20 times. It’s a pretty cool feeling knowing your song is being heard and played around the world!

Where can I get your music?
iTunes / Soundcloud
