Neon Indian reflects on the Meredith Music Festival, globetrotting and more!

While in Australia recently, Neon Indian dropped by the AU’s offices in Sydney to have a chat with Larry about his time spent at the 2015 Meredith Music Festival and more. Having spent much of the past 12 months on the road and bringing his music to more and more people in different markets, the musician describes his time out at the Supernatural Ampitheatre as being nothing but positive.

“It was awesome,” he says. “We got the sense that it’s got a reputation for being a very laidback, positive ambience, and that’s exactly what we got.”

Turning attention to recent travels across the globe, from the US into Australia and also into Asia as well, Neon Indian chats about the odd and delicious cuisine he was able to experience during his travels and what trends might be making their way into a mainstream Western culinary diet soon enough…

“Crickets, I think, are going to be the future.” he muses. “There’s some friends in Austin who have a company where they’re starting to make like, cricket crackers. ‘Crickers’, or something like that. It seems like they’re heavy in protein and I could imagine when it no longer becomes sustainable to raise so much cattle, I’ll totally have a cricket hot dog, you know?”
