Ahead of Old Mate’s Block Party…Getting to Know Joseph Liddy and The Skeleton Horse!

Sydney, your time has come! Get yourselves down to The Factory today for the inaugural Old Mate’s Block Party – a day long live music event featuring some amazing bands, art installations, food, drinks and good times.

Ahead of official event kick off, we get to know a little more about another band set to play, Joseph Liddy and The Skeleton Horse!

Tell us who you are and what band you play in?

Joe from Joseph Liddy and the Skeleton Horse.

How did this group come together and in particular, how did you get involved?

The group started about eight years ago when I was living in North Queensland. The personnel and sounds have changed since then into its current shape.

How would you describe your band’s sound?

Funk, soul and rock’n roll played by lame middle class white people.

If we were to listen to one song from your band what should it be?

Probably something from our forthcoming album but as it’s not out yet, the title track from our last album – “The God is Named Abrasax”.

What can we expect from your set at the Old Mate’s Block Party?

Cool jams and smooth vibes.

Who are you most excited to see at the festival and why?

Our buddies The Mountains because they’re wild men.

What were the highlights for the band in 2015?

Solidifying out current lineup and playing as much as possible.

What do you have in store for 2016?

A new record and more shows.

How important are festivals like this to the local scene?

VERY important!

Who do you think should’ve won the Hottest 100?

Stevie Wright.

Old Mate’s Block Party is being at The Factory (Factory Floor) on Saturday, January 30th. For tickets, head to The Factory’s website – for only $20 (or $25 on the door), you can’t pass up on it!
