Playlist: Sydney’s Thunder Fox share the inspirations for new tune, “Two For One”

Upon your first listen of Thunder Fox‘s latest single, “Two For One”, you’re hit with a one-two punch. Between the funk soaked bass line and those vocals courtesy of Sam Dawes, “Two For One” is delivered with a vintage flair while remaining very much in 2018.

The band is heading out on the road with “Two For One” through March, bringing a surefire winner of a show to venues along the east coast – when you’ve got that bass, horns and the type of swagger only really reserved for those who can walk the walk as well as they can talk the talk, you’ve got a formula that can’t fail.

Ahead of the tour, bass player Connor McCool has shared with us a cheeky lil playlist of the sorts of sounds that inspired “Two For One” – think funk, think groove, think all those good vibes.

“At the core of every single one of our songs is a strong rhythmic foundation.” the band says. “We might come up with a great theme, awesome melody or catchy vocal lick, but it means nothing if the beat doesn’t groove. As such, here’s our very own Connor McCool’s playlist of songs that have inspired him to keep on funking the funk in the lead up to recording “Two For One”. Expect to hear some D’Angelo, Jamiroquai, Winston Surfshirt and Nate Smith, just to name a few. The one thing that they all have in common? Sick groove.”
