9. Girlpool

8. Birdman (Or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)

7. Dreamland

What? A huge love in for Sydney fans of Jack Ladder and his enigmatic and charismatic-as-hell crew. DREAMLAND sees Jack Ladder, Kirin J Callinan, Donny Benet and Laurence Pike come together, performing material from both solo and collaborative outfits, all the while doling out some no doubt unforgettable stories.

5. Kev Carmody

What? Iconic Australian poet and songwriter, Carmody brings a stellar career of music to the Sydney Festival in 2016, performing a range of songs from over 40 years within the industry. The night will be featuring a screening of Songman, a Brendan Fletcher-directed film on the man himself – not to be missed.

4. Dirty Three

What? Dirty Three are a musical force to be reckoned with, if you’ve seen any of the individual members perform previously. Together, they are something different altogether – from Warren Ellis’ unforgettable violin skills to Mick Turner’s almost fiendish work on guitar, their catalogue is one that is represented so well on the live front, it’s hard to tear your attention away from the band once you’re hooked in.
