10 surefire highlights of Bonnaroo’s 16th anniversary this weekend

The 2018 edition of Bonnaroo is about to kick off with a lot of fresh new faces, big names and a huge dose of early 2000’s nostalgia. Muse, Eminem and The Killers were three of the biggest bands in the world 10 years ago and a decade later they will be headlining one of the best United States music festivals.

Bonnaroo takes place in Manchester, Tennessee on “The Farm”, a massive field in the middle of the Midwest. The festivals holds two main stages and several side tents hosting up and coming bands, huge headliners and plenty of music lovers from around the world. Below are the bands most likely to put on an unforgettable experience this weekend. We can’t wait.

Muse

The English arena rock band will be playing their first US festival this year and will surely bring plenty of lasers, rock and madness to the Friday night kick off headlining slot.

Eminem

This marks the first time Eminem will play the Tennessee festival. His long overdue Bonnaroo set will most likely be the most anticipated of the weekend and should have plenty of Bonnaroovians losing themselves in the moment.

The Killers

This alternative rock band is one of the best acts going. From “Mr. Brightside”, “When You Were Young”, “Human”, and many more will provide the best sing a long slot of the fest.

Bassnectar

One of the most famous dub step DJs in the world has a primo Friday late night set and will have an audience ready to rage with every drop.

Bon Iver

With the most intriguing slot of the festival, the incredibly acclaimed musician will have two sets on Saturday night. What both will bring will be super fascinating and I can’t wait to see what he does.

Moon Taxi

The Nashville rock band won’t be too far from home on the farm. Their latest album has established them as a force to be reckoned with. Their live sets showcase their raw talent and with so much success realised recently. This should be a huge party.

Paramore

I have a feeling lead singer Hayley Williams is going to win the weekend with the energy and rage she will bring. Check back with me on Saturday.

R.Lum.R

This alternative R&B crooner brings to mind Gallant and Frank Ocean. With a Thursday late night set, this could be the best discovery of the weekend.

Anderson Paak & The Free Nationals

Two years ago, I stumbled on to this band during Austin City Limits. Two years later, I won’t be stumbling I’ll be setting up camp as close as possible to catch one of the best live acts out there.

Manchester Orchestra

“The Gold” might be the best rock song of the last five years. This is one of the best rock bands out there and after an incredible album their live show I’m certain will only catapult them to another level.
